TCS employees’ salaries will be raised by up to 8%. Employees will now work three days a week in the office

Tata consultancy services lucrative firm and an IT behemoth with around 60000 employees, has announced that it will begin calling staff to work this month. According to the corporation, only top-level personnel will be required to visit the office, and not for a week, but three days. They can work from home for the remaining two days, as they have been.

Because of the coronavirus, businesses were forced to adopt the WFH model, in which employees were urged to work from the comfort and safety of their own homes.

Although many companies still offer the option to continue WFH, many of them are gradually phased out. TCS, which employs 6 lakh people, has indicated that it will begin calling its staff to work this month.

Only senior associates will be summoned to the office

Not all 6 lakhs will be called to work from the office three days a week, but the top 50000 will.

That implies they can work from home for the remaining two days.TCS’s CEO and MD, Rajesh Gopinathan, announced that the company’s senior colleagues will begin reporting to work this month. The number of employees who will be summoned to work will steadily increase over time.

He stated that by the middle of the year, i.e., June-July, the majority of the staff (80 percent) should be able to work from home

In this fiscal year, there will be an increase of 8% in salaries

Gopinathan also announced that the salaries of its employees will grow by 6-8 percent in the fiscal year 2022-23. Notably, the increase was the same as the previous fiscal year.

In the last quarter of FY 2021-22, i.e. January-March, TCS hired 35,209 new employees.

This is the most people ever hired in a single quarter. Similarly, the corporation hired 1, 03,546 new employees in the previous fiscal year. This is also an all-time high. With this, TCS now has a total workforce of
5, 92,195 people.
