On 26th April, the Uttar Pradesh government accepted a plan to increase the pay of part-time instructors and chefs employed by the state’s Basic Education Department.

Overview

The decision was made at a Cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

After the Cabinet meeting, Minister of State for Basic Education Sandeep Singh told that the Cabinet authorized enhancing the Rs 7,000 honorarium of roughly 27,555 part-time instructors to Rs 9,000 per month.

A suggestion to raise the remuneration of 3,77,520 cooks working in schools under the mid-day meal scheme from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 is also being considered, Singh added

According to him, the Cabinet also accepted a proposal to provide all-female chefs an extra Rs 500 per year. Nand Gopal ‘Nandi,’ the state’s Industries Minister, said the Cabinet also approved a tender for operating toll plazas and collecting tolls on the Purvanchal Expressway, as well as the deployment of six ambulances and 12 patrol vans manned by the required number of personnel.

The tender was invited earlier and against the reserved price of Rs. 200 crore, it was given at Rs. 222 crore. Asked when the toll tax collection would start on the expressway, Nandi said the Cabinet has approved the tender today itself after which its contract will be readied. The process of recovery of toll will be started as soon as possible, he added.

In another decision, Khanna stated that Uttar Pradesh will now produce approximately 10 lakh liters of HPLC liquid in the state. It is a type of ethanol that is commonly used in chemical laboratories. Until recently, the state government imported it from China.
