The farmers of India will now provide food to the world. And it has already started with Egypt. Egypt, the world's largest importer of Russian and Ukrainian wheat, has approved India as one of its suppliers. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal gave this information on 15th April.
'Indian farmers are feeding the world,' Piyush Goyal tweeted. India has been accepted as a wheat supplier by Egypt. The Modi government has stepped forward as a credible alternative source of sustainable food supply when the world has been yearning for one. Our farmers have loaded up on supplies, and we're ready to serve the rest of the world.

Wheat availability declined due to the Russia-Ukraine war

In fact, due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, wheat supply on the worldwide market has decreased dramatically. This is because both countries are big wheat growers and exporters.
In 2020, Egypt would import wheat worth $1.8 billion from Russia and $610.8 billion from Ukraine. In April, the African country will require 2,40,000 tonnes of wheat, which it plans to purchase from India in the amount of 1 million tonnes.

India provides wheat to many countries

India's wheat exports are primarily to its neighbors. In terms of volume and value, Bangladesh holds the greatest share of 54 percent in 2020-21. India's wheat is also exported to Nepal, the United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Yemen, Afghanistan, Qatar, Indonesia, Oman, and Malaysia.

Increased exports will benefit the Indian economy

India's contribution to global wheat exports is less than 1%. However, from 0.14 percent in 2016 to 0.54 percent in 2020, its proportion has increased. In 2020, India will be the world's second-largest wheat producer, accounting for roughly 14.14 percent of global production. Every year, India produces 107.59 million tonnes of wheat. Domestic consumption accounts for a large portion of this. Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Gujarat are the major wheat-producing states in India.
