Two Indian performers were among the winners at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. Falu, an Indian-American singer-songwriter, received her first Grammy in the Best Children’s Music Album category. Ricky Kej, who won his second Grammy with Stewart Copeland in the category of Best New Age Album, was also honoured.
Falu’s Background
Falguni Shah, often known as Falu, won the award for Best Children’s Music Album for her album ‘A Colorful World’. Falu is a New York-based musician who worked on the film Slumdog Millionaire alongside AR Rahman. She obtained her early music lessons in Mumbai, under the great vocal maestro and sarangi Ustad Sultan Khan. She also performed in the GRAMMY Premiere Ceremony’s opening act and went on to win the award.
Ricky Kej’s bio
Ricky Kej received his first Grammy Award in 2015, and this is his second. For the album Divine Tides, he shared the award with Stewart Copeland. He took home the title for Best New Age Album.
About the Grammy Awards in 2022
On March 3, 2022, the Grammy Awards were hosted at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This event was presented by Trevor Noah. Jon Batiste took home the title for Best Album of the Year. Olivia Rodrigo won the award for Best New Artist as well as Best Pop Vocal Album, and Doja Cat won the award for Best Pop Duo/Group.
