As part of its annual budgetary plan, the MP government presented a ‘child budget’ for the first time. The government has set up Rs 57,803 crore for 220 initiatives aimed at children under the age of 18 that would be executed across 17 departments, including education.
About Child Budget
The centerpiece of this year’s Budget was the creation of a separate Child Budget, with Rs 57,803 crore set aside for their nutrition, health, and education. This grant has been distributed to all departments that work with children under the age of eighteen. Women and children, school education, sports, and tribal welfare are among the departments. The state’s children will have a bright future just because of the separate Child Budget. The Child Budget will allow the government to address child-focused programmes such as newborn mortality and malnutrition.
Taking an Overview:
- The budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 was presented by the Madhya Pradesh government. Finance Minister Jagdish Devda presented the budget.
- For the fiscal year 2022-23, no additional taxes were suggested in the Rs 2.79 lakh crore budget.
- Infrastructure has been allocated Rs 42,128 crore, education has been allocated Rs 32,843 crore, and health has been allocated Rs 19,405 crore in the upcoming fiscal.
- The budget for 2022-23 proposes a total appropriation of Rs 2,79,237 crore, which is roughly Rs 37,500 crore more than the previous budget.
- The infrastructure sector, which includes roads, power, and water, has been granted Rs 42,128 crore in 2019 budget.
- For rural and urban development, Rs 41,038 crore has been set aside.
- Agriculture would receive Rs 20,027 crore, education will receive Rs 32,843 crore, and health will receive Rs 19,405 crore.
- A total of Rs 21,389 crore has been granted to the Rural Development Department. The Panchayat Department has been allocated Rs 6,536 crore.
- A total of Rs 142 crore has been set aside to make arrangements for veterinary vans to provide on-the-spot care to wounded or unwell cattle.
