President Ram Nath Kovind said on Sunday, 8 may while inaugurating the new Indian Institute of Management (IIM) campus in Nagpur, that the Nagpur chapter should not only be an excellent academic training ground, but also the midpoint of life moulding experience for the students on campus.
The President stated that educational institutes are more than just places to learn; they are also places where students’ inner and sometimes hidden talents are polished. “The curriculum allows us to reflect on our purpose and ambition within ourselves, allowing us to achieve our goals,” he added.
Importance of innovation and entrepreneurship among students
He emphasized the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship among students, claiming that both can not only make our lives easier through technology but also provide employment opportunities for many people.
“I am confident that the environment at IIM Nagpur will encourage students to think of themselves as job creators rather than job seekers,” he said.
Appreciating the IIM for establishing seven centers of excellence, Kovind stated that the IIM Nagpur Foundation for Entrepreneurs Development (InFED) was established through the Centre for Entrepreneurs, and it was a source of great pride that InFED had successfully enabled women entrepreneurs to graduate from the women startup program, with six of them having even launched their businesses. “When given an appropriate platform, our daughters will always shine brightly, and it will be a true tribute to the land of Savitribai Fuley and Anandibai Joshi,” Kovind added.
The inaugural function was also attended by Union ministers Nitin Gadkari and Dharmendra Pradhan, Maharashtra ministers Nitin Raut and Subhash Desai, and opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis.

IIM-N is a 132-acre campus near Nagpur Airport with several management and administrative centers and 665 students studying in various branches.
