According to Compulsory Child Education Act, RTE lottery will be out shortly from now for free admission in 30 thousand private schools of Rajasthan.
More than two lakh parents have applied for the admission of their children in RTE across the state. Out of these, needy children will be given free admission in 1.25 lakh seats in private schools. For which Education Minister Dr. BD Kalla will draw lottery through computer in the education complex of Jaipur. applications were sought for RTE from May 2 to 15. At the same time, after the lottery, the children will be given admission on the basis of document verification.
Under the RTE Act, private schools have to give free admission equal to 25 percent of the total number of children admitted in their entry level class i.e. pre-nursery, nursery etc. The government gives the money for the education of these 25 percent children to these school operators. While the school fees are not collected from the parents. Under RTE, children are given admission in class I. For this the age of the child should be between 5 to 7 years. For which the child’s birth certificate and original or permanent residence documents have to be attached.
Priority will be given Ward wise
Priority list will be issued in the RTE lottery in the education complex. A lottery is drawn by giving priority to the schools in the same ward. Under this scheme, admission is given to the children falling in two categories, low income group and disadvantaged group. In this, children in the low income group whose parents’ income is up to Rs 2.50 lakh annually. Whereas the disadvantaged group includes SC, ST category as well as orphan children, children of parents suffering from HIV or cancer or affected by these diseases, children of war widows, BPL and children with disabilities.
Schedule after the lottery
• Applicants (guardians) will have to report online from May 18 to 25 after the Priority Lottery is out.
• Scrutiny of applications will be done from May 18 to 27.
• This entire process will be done in two phases i.e. after the completion of the first phase admission process when the seats will remain vacant. So the scrutiny of second phase application forms will start from
June 1. This entire process will continue till July 20.
