Emirates A380: Know Detail About World’s Biggest Passenger Aircraft, Dubai-Bangalore



To call the Emirates A380 an engineering marvel would not be an exaggeration. As the world’s largest aeroplane, it has access to all of the most luxurious facilities and amenities. Emirates Airlines will now use this aircraft on the Dubai-Bengaluru route beginning October 30, 2022.

Until now, Emirates Airlines has flown Boeing 777s between Dubai and Bengaluru. So, before the A380 touches down in Bengaluru, let’s take a look at what makes it the world’s largest passenger aircraft.

The Emirates A380 weighs between 510 and 575 tonnes and is the length of two blue whales (72.7 metres) and the height of five giraffes (24.1 meter). It is also made up of a whopping 4 million parts. The A380 has 45 percent more seating capacity than the Boeing 777, as well as more legroom and larger screens in all cabins.

Emirates’ fleet consists of 118 A380 aircraft. Since 2018, it has flown over 1 billion kilometres and carried over 105 million passengers. The shortest A380 flight is 1,700 kilometres between Dubai and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, while the longest is 14,193 kilometres between Dubai and Auckland, New Zealand.

From private suites and shower spas in first class to flat-bed seats in business class to extra room, wireless bluetooth connectivity, and custom lighting in economy class, the Emirates A380 has it all. In fact, it has Wi-Fi throughout the flight. There is also an onboard lounge for business class passengers on the A380. The company has also launched a new Premium Economy Class between certain destinations.

The A380 has a maximum flight range of 8,000 nautical miles and is powered by a GP7200 RR Trent 900 engine (roughly 15,000 km). It flies at a cruising altitude of 43,100 feet.

The A380’s interior is finished in a sleek cream and bronze. First class passengers receive Bvlgari toiletries and Timeless Spa products. A first-class flyer also has sliding privacy doors, a personal mini-bar, ambient lighting, a private cinema, a vanity table, and a mirror. The entire seat can be converted into a fully flat bed with a mattress.
