The second world war marked a significant milestone in the United States when more than forty thousand volunteers started collecting metal, paper, rubber, etc for the war effort. Since the war scientists have been siting alarming consequences of pollution, greenhouse gases, and nuclear radiation and how it can severely affect health and cause serious and life-threatening illnesses.

With polar caps continuing to melt, sea levels rising and rainforests disappearing, a lot of flora and fauna are getting lost causing an imbalance in the ecology. A sustainable future depends on three factors- economic, ecologic, and social and the aim is to develop technologies to maintain an equivalent balance between the three.

If these growing investments are combined with innovative and excellent minds and bold entrepreneurs, green technology can effectively replace the harmful and conventional modes of technology and meet the
