Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)

PMFBY was established in February 2016 with the goal of giving financial support to those farmers who have suffered crop damage or loss due to natural catastrophes. Over 36 million farmer applications have been covered through this scheme as of February 4, 2022, with over Rs 1,07,059 crores in claims paid.
Because small and marginal farmers account for 85 percent of the farmers registered under this plan, the scheme has been able to provide financial assistance to the most vulnerable farmers.
