BCCI has informed young Indian players that they can no longer request for Dhoni's number 7 jersey

After Sachin Tendulkar's jersey No. 10, the BCCI has decided to retire MS Dhoni's No.7

As per ICC rules, they are allowed to pick any number between 1 to 100

This decision has come three and a half years after Dhoni's retirement in August 2020.

His last appearance wearing Indian jersey No.7 was in the 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand.

Dhoni is the only captain to have won all three ICC tournaments in the white-ball format.

Dhoni also holds the record for most dismissals by an Indian keeper. He has 634 catches and 195 stumping to his credit.
