Under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the National Health Authority has announced a new version of the Health Benefit Package, 2022, which includes 365 additional procedures, bringing the total to 1,949 procedures.
Health Benefit Package, 2022
The Union Health Ministry recently announced that the Health Benefit Package, 2022, will feature differential pricing based on the kind of city and degree of care.
The package was unveiled on 07th April 2022 during a two-day meeting in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu, to discuss the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission in the southern states and union territories.
ICD-11 and ICD-10
The National Health Authority also announced the launch of a new patient classification initiative called ICD-11 (International Classification of Disease) and ICD-10 (International Classification of Health Intervention) for Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya (AB-PMJAY)
India’s first insurance policy to offer a DRG-based payment system
The trial rollout of Diagnosis Related Grouping (DRG) in Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Meghalaya was another highlight. AB PM-JAY would be the first insurance policy in India to offer a DRG-based payment system.
Ayushman Sangam
The third edition of the National Health Authority’s two-day Southern Region Review meeting ws — ‘Ayushman Sangam’ — on April 7 and 8 covered the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.
Similar regional review sessions covering the north and west zones have previously been held by the National Health Authority .
