Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) and SES, a global satellite based content connectivity solutions provider, have announced a partnership. Jio has teamed with SES to launch satellite broadband in India, according to Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). In this partnership, Jio will own 51 percent and SES will own 49 percent. Both the companies will work together to provide broadband access in India at a low cost.

A high-speed internet connection of 100 Gigabits per second will be offered

Jio Satellite Broadband Service would offer high-speed internet at a speed of 100 Gbps. Jio will use the Multi Orbit Space Network in cooperation with SES, which is a hybrid of Geo Stationary (GEO) and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO).

This combination will allow for multi-gigabyte connections. In this approach, Jio will become a telecom provider in India and the nearby region, providing rapid internet connectivity without the use of optical fibre.

Starlink may suffer a setback

Musk has also been attempting for a long time to get his satellite-based communication provider Starlink into India. However, due to legal issues, the Indian government has temporarily halted the launch of the Starlink service. In addition, the Starlink company has been directed to repay all of the clients' money. In India, Starlink has begun accepting pre-bookings.
