‘JAGANANNA CHEDODU’: ANDHRA PRADESH CM LAUNCHED 2ND TRANCHE OF WELFARE SCHEME

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh inaugurated the second tranche of the ‘Jagananna Chedodu’ initiative. The initiative aims to lend a helping hand to those in need. The fund was directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ accounts during a virtual launch. The welfare program intends to help the tailors, washermen, and barbers of the state to expand their business and support them in buying equipment.

Beneficiaries of the scheme

Under this initiative, this year money has been credited to 2,85,350 persons from Rajakas, Nayee Brahmins, and Tailors from all communities through the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). Rs 285.35 crores in financial help have been deposited to the beneficiaries’ accounts during a Virtual Launch held at the Tadepalli Camp Office.

Funds to help the beneficiaries

Beneficiaries would get a one-time amount of Rs. 10,000. Beneficiaries can use this money to buy tools, equipment, and other necessities to expand their source of income and business. They will be able to meet their investment requirements as a result of this. The state government has so far disbursed Rs. 583.78 crores under this program, including this year’s allocation of Rs 285.35 crore.

Jagananna Chedodu

Jagananna Chedodu is a state-funded welfare program for tailors, washermen, and barbers who run their businesses and have lost their livelihood as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Each beneficiary’s funds will be deposited straight into their bank accounts. Surveys will be used to identify and shortlist the recipients.

Lending hand to the hard workers

“These are such industrious individuals, who maintain themselves self-employed, it is our obligation to provide a helping hand, we acknowledge their need and are taking this step to economically uplift and support them,” CM Jagan Mohan Reddy remarked on the occasion.
