Kerala has signed a MoU with the Social Alpha through its “Clean Energy International Incubation Centre (CEIIC).”
Important information
Kerala Development & Innovation Strategy Council (KDISC) and Energy Management Centre (EMC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The MoU emphasizes KDISC, EMC, and CEIIC’s shared commitment to collaborate in the areas of innovative and clean energy technologies that are aligned with Kerala’s programmes and initiatives.
Kerala would benefit from this collaboration by being able to curate breakthrough solutions for deployment through government initiatives to address the difficulties in the power sector and ensure that
everyone has access to energy.
The collaborative incubation centre will make use of infrastructure and labs that have already been established by partnering entities.
The programme addresses the urgent need for solutions that leverage breakthrough renewable energy technology to accelerate net zero development.
This programme will also be in line with the Mission Innovation Platform’s goals and India’s climate pledge.
Tata Power’s Role
One of the primary stakeholders is Tata Power. Through a robust network of over a hundred national and international technological and institution partners, a cadre of specialists, and lab facilities, it will help the joint incubator in its efforts to develop inexpensive and scalable solutions.
Clean Energy International Incubation Centre (CEIIC)
CEIIC is a Social Alpha Energy lab that was founded in 2018. It is collaboration between Tata Trusts and the Indian government. Department of Biotechnology, BIRAC, and Tata Power are all supporting it. CEIIC was established to foster energy-related advancements. Under Mission Innovation, it has become India’s first International Incubator. It is intended to provide renewable energy businesses with full “lab to market” incubation support.

It’s a global initiative that aims to kick-start a decade of action and investment in research, development, and demonstration to make clean energy appealing, accessible, and affordable to everyone. The mission’s purpose is to hasten progress toward the Paris Agreement’s targets and net-zero paths.
