India and ASEAN countries endorsed the India-ASEAN Digital Work Plan during the second ADGMIN. The ASEAN Digital Ministers Meeting (ADGMIN) is a gathering of ASEAN digital ministers. The meeting took place over the internet.
The countries will exchange their expertise in emerging digital technologies such as 5G, the Internet of Things, cyber forensics, and improved satellite communication as part of the initiative. They will collaborate and create technology to combat internet hacking and cell phone theft. They will also devise strategies to counteract the inappropriate anti-social usage of stolen cellphones.
It's a once-a-year gathering. The meeting will be attended by dialogue partners such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Japan, the European Union, China, Canada, and Australia. The countries addressed ideas to improve digital cooperation at the ADGMIN conference in 2022.
Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, Brunei, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines make up ASEAN.
The approach will aid in increasing citizen-government participation. In addition, the plan will make use of ICTs to promote human rights, free speech, and the free flow of information. It will broaden the possibilities for decision-making. People's lives in rural areas will be transformed as a result of the initiative.
