Highlights-

  • IT sector has begun hiring for 70 thousand positions in the first week of the year 2022.
  • According to estimations, the top IT companies will hire a total of five lakh people in the fiscal year 2021-22.

Corona has had a significant impact on several industries around the world. People began to discover appropriate ways to continue operating their businesses amid the government’s covid regulations. Markets have largely recovered a year later, but the pandemic’s economic impact is still felt in several areas. The IT sector, on the other hand, was driven by the pandemic. The market’s demand for IT workers increased, resulting in a surge in IT hiring.

At the beginning of the year, where companies have a slow start, IT is at the boom of hiring. Despite the third wave of Corona, hiring in India’s IT sector has remained robust. Companies in this sector have begun hiring for 70 thousand positions in the first week of the new year, 2022, according to the information shared by LinkedIn and the staffing firm Xpheno. If the initial pace continues, job opportunities in January could be larger than in December (2.53 lakh).

Hiring will approach five lakhs

The January-March quarter is normally optimistic for jobs, according to Kamal Karanth, co-founder of Xpheno. This time, the start is promising. Accenture, IBM, Genpact, Dell, Zensar, Salesforce, and Oracle are the top IT and tech businesses with new job offers in the first week of the month. According to Xfeno, the top ten Indian IT businesses, including TCS and Infosys, will hire a total of five lakh people in the fiscal year 2021-22.

61 thousand people being hired by large corporations

During the quarter October-December 2021, the country’s four biggest IT giants, TCS, Infosys, HCL, and Wipro, hired 61,137 people. TCS has employed 28,238, Infosys has hired 12,450, HCL has hired 10143, and Wipro has hired 10,306.
