Bharath finished the season with six victories and one tie. He was defeated by Korobov and Lalith Babu in both games.

After placing 11th position he earned his first GM norm in the Aeroflot Open in Moscow in February 2020. In October 2021, he won his second GM norm at the Junior Roundtable Under 21 tournament in Bulgaria. With 6.5 points, he came in fourth place.
