AIIMS Delhi has come up with a unique solution to manage and improve the procurement process; creating a digital library. It is perhaps among the many decisions in which India’s biggest medical institution has been actively engaged with the objective of increasing transparency and reducing the many accounts of human errors.

The benefits of this new Initiative

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is one of the largest and most prestigious medical schools in India. To keep up with the growing demands of its students and staff, AIIMS has announced plans to create a new digital library for storing its work orders. This new initiative will have several benefits, including:

1. Increased efficiency – The new library will allow staff members to quickly and easily find work orders, which will improve the efficiency of the entire institution.

2. Easier access – Staff and students will be able to access the library from anywhere in the world, making it easier for them to collaborate on projects.

3. Improved security – The library’s digital format will make it more secure than traditional filing systems, which are vulnerable to theft and damage.

4. Increased flexibility – Staff will be able to quickly adapt to changes in workflow by accessing the library’s online resources.

5. Greater transparency – The library’s online system will allow everyone involved in AIIMS projects to track the progress of each task.

6. Improved coordination - One key benefit of the new digital library will be improved coordination throughout the entire process. With all work orders stored in one place, employees will be able to quickly and easily find the information they need. This will streamline the entire process and reduce overtime consumption.

7. Tracking of essential work orders - Another benefit of the new digital library will be better tracking of work orders. With detailed records of each order, employees will be able to more easily identify any potential problems or issues with individual orders. This will help ensure that all work is completed effectively and efficiently.

The potential Drawbacks

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, is India’s largest and most prestigious hospital. AIIMS has a long history of providing quality medical care, education, and research.

To keep up with the growing demand for its services, AIIMS recently decided to expand its operations by creating a new digital library for storing its work orders. However, there are some consequential drawbacks to this new initiative.

First and foremost, it is unclear whether or not the new digital library will improve efficiency and reduce costs.

It is possible that the opposite could happen – that due to the complexity of the system, workers will become bogged down in paperwork and administrative tasks instead of focusing on patient care. Additionally, there is a risk that sensitive patient data may be compromised through this new system.

Another major concern is that the implementation of the new digital library will disrupt longstanding workflows and practices at AIIMS. Staff members may resist change or feel overwhelmed by all the new technology; as a result, patient care could suffer.

Moreover, the approach may temporarily divert precious resources away from more pressing needs such as upgrading outdated infrastructure or hiring more staff members.

The Third concern is to do with employee morale. This move may lead to a decline in employee morale, as staff members may feel that their jobs are being automated away.

Finally, there are a handful of points connected to this approach that form secondary concerns. These include the nature of digital libraries, bandwidth issues, and the constant updating of digital records.

To sum things up, it is nonetheless a distinctive approach decided by AIIMS New Delhi. In the era of digitalization, uploading or storing content online has been considered the preferable time management option and digital libraries are the best way to store and preserve important data. Despite the potential drawbacks, this new approach does stand to benefit AIIMS, hopefully allowing for a smoother and more reliable transition from April onward.
