PM Modi In 100th Year Swamiji Celebration





PM Modi is to take part in the Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj celebration in Ahmedabad between December 15 and January 15, 2023.

“People from all walks of life will visit and offer their heartfelt tributes to Pramukh Swami Maharaj and gain inspiration from the fascinating presentations, displays, and programs about his universal life, works, and messages. Assemblies and programs, held daily in the presence of eminent personalities from India and all over the world, will enlighten and elevate devotees, aspirants, and well-wishers,” as told by BAPS’s Gyanvatsal Swami.

Who is Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj?

Pramukh Swami Maharaj was a residing Swamiji at the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS). He was born in Gujarat in the year 1921 and was named “Shantilal Patel”. The BAPS belongs to the sect of Hinduism that worships, yogi and ascetic Sahajanand Swami as the Supreme Being. It was believed that Sahajanad was a manifestation of God Krishna and the religious belief system that follows this is called the Swaminarayan Sampradaya.

Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj was the president or Guru (Pramukh) of the BAPS until his death at 96 years old, in the year 2016.

In the present day, BAPS is conducting a grand ritual and tribute to the late Pramukh in which PM Modi among many other delegates and dignitaries will be present.

Hundreds of Farmers contribute 600 acres of land

In a monumental gesture of love, hundreds of farmers living in Ahmedabad have contributed a massive 600 acres of land to the celebration at BAPS. Farmers in hand with builders helped actively in the celebration in which PM Modi was present.

Aksharvatsal Swami thanked the farmers and builders for providing the land free of cost for a year as seva daan.

“This land was levelled and cleared, which was another big challenge as the preparations started a year back. A large number of volunteers have worked day and night and everything from planning to architecture has been done in-house and no commercial companies have been hired for the site. Volunteers were divided into 45 internal departments such as construction, cultural events, landscaping, and others,” he reportedly said.

PM Modi confirms his participation in the celebrations

The Prime Minister’s office recently released a statement of participation in the mega event.

The statement reads as follows

“Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will participate in the inaugural function of Pramukh Swami Maharaj Shatabdi Mahotsav on 14th December 2022 at 5:30 PM in Ahmedabad.”

The Prime Minister’s office spoke kind and respectful words appreciating the service of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

“His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj was a guide and guru who touched countless lives across India and the world. He was widely respected and admired as a great spiritual leader. His life was dedicated to the service of spirituality and humanity. As the leader of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, he inspired countless cultural, social, and spiritual initiatives, providing comfort and care to millions.”

This celebration was to honor him on his birth centenary year. People from all around the world were present too. The celebration is estimated to be a year-long festival that will be held at the Pramukh Swami Maharaj Shatabdi Mahotsav.

“ ‘Pramukh Swami Maharaj Shatabdi Mahotsav’ will be hosted by BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Shahibaug, which is the worldwide headquarters of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. It will be a month-long celebration that will take place from 15th December 2022 to 15th January 2023 in Ahmedabad, featuring daily events, thematic exhibitions, and thought-provoking pavilions.”

What is the BAPS?

BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha was first founded and established in the year 1907 by Shastriji Maharaj.

The organization is entirely founded on the teachings of the Vedas. BAPS teaches its followers practical spirituality. Apart from religious teaching and seva, the organization is infamous for humanitarian activities and global outreaches.

BAPS is a strong supporting pillar in upholding the spiritual, moral, and social development of people today. The organization runs on core values taught and passed down by yogis and ascetics who have devoted their lives to the betterment of humanity. BAPS is seen to preserve faith, communal unity, selfless service, and thirst for enlightenment.

As of today, December 15, PM Modi along with several other foreign dignitaries were seen at the commencement of the year-long festival.
