People occupied govt land by 2018 will get land, can apply now

On living above a certain time on any government land, the government also has to accept the claim of the occupant. Seeing this, till 2018 the government has given land on lease to these people living on government land.

People living till 2018 will get benefits

Ahead of next year’s assembly elections, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will give electoral gifts to the families who have been living on the government’s land for years without any rights. They will be provided residential leases. The time period for this is being extended from December 31, 2014 to December 31, 2018. The proposal of the Urban Development and Housing Department has been approved by the Law Department. It will be implemented after the cabinet decision.

50 thousand people will get land

So far 33,123 leashes have been given in urban areas. 14,468 leases are pending. The government had decided to give permanent lease of 30 years to the people living in urban areas on government plots till December 31, 2014. Till September 2022, one lakh 17 thousand 400 such applications were received. After verification, 69,809 were found ineligible. Of these, pattas have been given to 33,123 people.

These papers will have to be given for proof

Proof will have to be given to prove possession: Electricity bill, water supply bill, any correspondence or document related to government office, address mentioned in Census 2011, property tax receipt issued by the authority or name and address mentioned in the voter list will have to be given.

What is leash?

In a way, it is to give land to the people on government rent. Those who have built a house on government land and have been living for a long time are given this land on lease for a long time and have to pay the rent or lease money. With this, the claim of the government does not end on the ground and the citizens are not inconvenienced.
