National Unity Day: Instil a sense of unity in diversity on this Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

National Unity Day is celebrated every year on 31 October. Since the year 2014, this day is being celebrated on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who played an important role in the merger of princely states in India after the independence of the country and laid the foundation of a united India. The meaning of Ekta Diwas is also proved by this work. If seen, we all should inculcate the qualities of Unity in Diversity in our children from childhood. India is a country full of diversity but still we are all one, Indians. Some efforts can be made to inculcate this feeling in children and to make them understand about unity in diversity.

Teaching Children About Unity In Diversity

Tell about diversity

You do not need to use heavy words to explain to children what unity is. You can also tell the children by showing the things of the house, picking up children's toys or giving the example of a forest or family, how different things together make a family and are mixed together. This is the quality of diversity as well as the specialty.

Give example of friends

Children may or may not understand anything, but the importance of friendship and friendship is well understood from a very young age. Give the example of their friend to the children and tell how they are good friends even after being very different from each other. Their different tastes, different colloquial style, different family background and different clothing keep them close to each other while making them different.

Celebrate festivals

Along with telling the children about unity in diversity, make them feel its importance by giving examples. Celebrating different festivals together, offering sweets to neighbors and congratulating them on a particular festival celebrated by them and eating their dishes, sending children to play amongst themselves shows that different types of festivals ( The joy that comes in celebrating Festivals together is incomparable.

Going on visit

Wherever you live, there may be people like you living there. Everyone's house can be the same, dress and colloquial etc. can also be same. In such a situation, it is good to take the children for a walk. With this, they are able to see that in different states of India, people are different from us even after being separated from us. Even if you do not understand someone's language, but their expressions can be easily understood. These are the qualities that make children generous and sensitive to all.
