After more than 100 years, Nagaland finally got its second railway station on August 26. Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio confirmed on Twitter that the beginning of train facilities at the Shokhuvi village marked a historic moment. The second railway terminal passenger services on the Dhansari-Shokhuvi railway line have begun, according to Neiphiu, who was delighted to flag off the Donyi Polo Express from Shokhuvi station.

Station provides an alternative route to Guwahati

This station provides an alternative route to Guwahati for passengers from Nagaland and Manipur. The tweet was sent on August 25th.

Neiphiu responded with another tweet. He asked Northeast Frontier Railway to make certain that the Dimapur railway station receives its fair share of development. The Chief Minister stated that a railway station in Dimapur will serve residents of Nagaland, Manipur, and Assam's neighbouring districts. Dimapur railway station opened in 1903.

At this historic moment, Neiphiu also stated that the Northeast Frontier Railway should not be held responsible for the delay. According to Neiphiu, railways have faced numerous challenges in acquiring the necessary land for railway line construction.

The Chief Minister appealed to citizens, village councils, civil society organisations, and leaders for assistance. Connecting all North Eastern states with railways, according to Neiphiu, would fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Act East policy.

Neiphiu also expressed hope that Molvom Station would be finished by March or April of the following year.

Second railway station in the state

Meanwhile, Anshul Gupta, general manager of the Northeast Frontier Railway, thanked Neiphiu for his guidance and support in allowing railways to build a second railway station.

Donyi Polo Express, according to Jacob Zhimomi, a minister in the Nagaland government, will boost trade and economic activities in the state. It would also improve relations between Nagaland, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh, according to Jacob.
