Nataraj and Apsara pencil have created an enduring impact on every individual’s childhood. These are some memories which can never be erased. Just like the Nataraj’s advertisement says, ’some memories cannot be erased’. Growing up, you may have distanced yourself from the pencil, but the prints that it has left on your heart still remains fresh.

How it all started?

BJ Sanghvi, Ramnath Mehra, and Mansukni were three best friends. In 1958, they established Hindustan Pencils in Mumbai, a firm they co-founded. Going to Germany helped them understand the pencil business. The Nataraj Pencil was the firm's initial offering. They created robust and cost-effective pencils as a result of their overseas education. People began to appreciate this pencil over time. Sanghvi eventually took over the company.

Two companies under the same umbrella

Hindustan Pencils Pvt. Ltd. is one of the largest pencil producers, serving the stationery needs of over 50 countries worldwide. Apsara and Nataraj, two brands under the Hindustan Pencils Pvt.  Hindustan Pencils provide variety of choices
