History of Friendship Day 2022
Joce Hall proposed the concept of Friendship Day in Paraguay in 1958. Hallmark Cards was his company. Initially, the idea was not well received because people began to lose interest in it, believing it was a ploy to commercialise and increase greeting card sales.
The United Nations designated July 30 as World Friendship Day in 2011. Notably, different countries observe the day on different days.
