United Nations Public Service Day 2022: Honor the value and virtue of public service to the community

United Nations Public Service Day will be observed as a national day in the United Nations on June 23rd, 2022. Every year the day is observed to honour the value and virtue of public service to the community, to highlight the role of public service in the development process, to recognise the work of public servants, and to encourage young people to pursue careers in the public sector.

This day is observed to honour the contributions of public servants to the development of the country. They devote their entire time and energy to serving humanity. On this United Nations Public Service Day 2022, the contribution of workers who safeguard, acknowledge, and invest in their well-being in order to build the nation together is highlighted. The United Nations has long recognized the contributions that public servants provide to their communities. As a result, they founded the United Nations Public Service Awards. The awards encourage and honor public service innovation and excellence. The winners of these awards are divided into five regional groups. These groups include Africa, Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Western Asia. More than 250 initiatives have received the prestigious award. These projects have ranged from promoting gender equality to improving health services.

United Nation Public Service Day 2022: Significance

In order to meet the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, the event will highlight and investigate the increasingly important role that innovation and technology play in the delivery of public services. The event, on the other hand, will highlight lessons learned from the previous year, such as how countries and public workers adjusted and used internet tools to continue working during the pandemic.
