Qualities of nuts

Nuts are good source of fibre and contains essential vitamins and minerals that can protect us from chronic diseases like diabetes and heart issues. It is also a perfect weight loss snack as they have high amount of protein and fibre in them. Nuts are rich in vitamin E, calcium, selenium, copper, magnesium and riboflavin. They are also rich in iron, potassium,zinc and vitamin B etc.

Rules to eat nuts

According to Ayurveda expert , nuts are very heavy to digest as they contain good amount of healthy fat, protein,fibre etc. So before we eat them ,we should soak them for 6-8 hours, this will reduce its heat ,removes phytic acid.

Best time to eat the nuts

According to Ayurveda expert one can eat nuts first in thr morning or as a mid day or evening snack as they keep craving at bay.

How much to eat

The people who have optimum digestive capacity, who exercises daily, who drinks enough water and doesn’t have any disease can have an ounce (what fits in the palm of hand) of nuts daily is healthy. Overeating of nuts can cause indigestion, heaviness in abdomen, heart issues, diarrhoea, weight gain.

Who should avoid eating nuts

Dr. Bhavsar says that nuts is not for everyone and people who are suffering from certain health issues should avoid having them. People with poor gut health, digestive issues,acidity, severe diarrhoea, bloating allergic to nuts should avoid eating nuts until their digestion improves.
