The QS World University Rankings 2022 by subject was recently issued on April 6, 2022. Engineering and technology, humanities and arts, natural sciences, medical and life sciences, and management and social sciences are among the subjects for which rankings have been released.
How were the universities ranked?
To rank the universities five components were considered and they are
• employer reputation,
• academic reputation,
• h-index,
• research citations per paper,
• International research network (by broad-faculty area).

Universities from India are included in the list
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has topped the list in the country. The four academic programmes of IIT Delhi have also been ranked among the top 100 in the world. This list also includes a number of Indian universities and institutions.
Arts and Humanities is a category that includes the arts and humanities.
In the History discipline, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and the University of Delhi (DU) received 101-150 and 151-200 slabs, respectively.
For the topic of medicine, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) received a 204 ranking, followed by Delhi University (330) and Manipal Academy of Higher Education (375).
Technology and Engineering
IIT Delhi (65) and IIT Bombay (67) have been ranked among the top 100 universities in the world for Computer Science. This ranking also includes IIT Kanpur (109), IIT Kharagpur (109), IIT Madras (114), and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore (144). IIT Roorkee has been ranked in the top 251-300 universities in the world. Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has been put in the top 301-350, whereas IIT Guwahati and DU have been placed in the top 351-400.
Natural Sciences category
IISc Bangalore has been placed 81 in this category, followed by IIT Bombay (112) and IIT Delhi (151-200 slab).
IIT Bombay is ranked 117th among the top 200 universities in the world for mathematics. IIT Delhi (128), IIT Kanpur (132), IISc Bangalore (142), and IIT Madras are next on the list (148).
