HIGHLIGHTS:

• World Health Day is observed every year on April 7
• It is celebrated to promote awareness about the importance of good health
• 'Our Planet, Our Health' will be the subject of World Health Day in 2022

Every year on April 7, World Health Day is commemorated to promote awareness about the importance of good health. The purpose of the day is also to express gratitude to the medical faculty, who work from dawn to sunset to keep people well.

Health is vital to human happiness and well-being, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Because healthier individuals live longer and are more productive, it adds to economic progress.

Along with World Immunization Week, World Malaria Day, World No Tobacco Day, World AIDS Day, World Blood Donor Day, World Hepatitis Day, and World Tuberculosis Day, it is one of the WHO's global health programmes.

Theme for World Health Day 2022

'Our Planet, Our Health' will be the subject of World Health Day in 2022. This year, the World Health Organization (WHO) will concentrate worldwide attention on the urgent efforts required to keep humanity and the planet healthy, as well as to develop a movement to establish societies that prioritize well-being. 'Building a Fairer and Healthier World for Everyone' was the theme in 2021, and 'Support Nurses and
Midwives' was the theme in 2020.

The 2018 and 2019 World Health Day themes, "Universal Health Coverage: Everyone, Everywhere," reinforced the idea that health is a fundamental human right and that everyone should have access to health care. The subject for 2017 was 'Depression: Let's Talk,' with the goal of mobilising action against depression.
