PM MODI INAUGURATES 25TH NATIONAL YOUTH FESTIVAL WITH MANTRA OF ‘COMPETE AND CONQUER’

  • The prime minister said on the occasion that the world looks at India's young demography with hope and optimism, and that India is young in its thoughts and conscience.
  • India's mentality and ideas have always been open to change.
  • Youth have democratic principles as well as a demographic dividend, and India sees youth as both a demographic dividend and a development catalyst.

On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the 25th National Youth Festival in Puducherry.

2022 Youth Festival Information

Because of the covid-19 pandemic, the festival will be hosted in virtual mode on January 12 and 13. The goal of the youth festival is to shape the minds of Indian young and develop them into a "unified force for nation building." It also aspires to bring together many Indian cultures and weave them into a single strand of 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.' Participants will be able to witness recorded video capsules of Puducherry, Auroville, Immersive City Experience, folk games, and indigenous sport games during the festival.

National Youth Summit

Following the opening of the youth festival, a "National Youth Summit" was held. Panel talks on four topics during the summit:
  • Growth in environmental, climatic, and sustainable development goals (SDGs)
  • Technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation are three words that come to mind while thinking about technology.
  • Indigenous and ancient wisdom
  • National character, country development, and homegrown

National Youth Festival

The National Youth Festival is an annual event in India that brings together young people for a variety of activities. Every year on the anniversary of Swami Vivekananda's birth, it is commemorated. It is conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with a state government. As a result, each year during National Youth Week, which runs from January 12 to 16, the festival is held in a different state.

Swami Vivekananda's Biography

On January 12, Swami Vivekananda's birthday is commemorated as National Youth Day. Narendranath Datta was his original name. He was an Indian Hindu monk, philosopher, and Ramakrishna's greatest follower in the 19th century.
